Don't have the time to run to the spa for a massage? Not many of us do these days. Finding the time is always a problem and money is tight.
Here is what we do at home after dinner while sitting on the couch. I bring down one of my body moisturizers and give my husband a hand and foot massage and he in return gives me one. Just taking all the tension out of our hands and feet by massaging them makes us feel so much more relaxed. If you are on the computer like we are 98% of the time then you must notice your hands getting tired and cramped. We are fairly active too during the week either hiking or taking spin classes at the gym. Can't forget all the walks with the dog too............. A foot massage is very soothing and invigorating at the same time.
Take 30 minutes in the evening and get close to your significant other and give each other a much needed hand and foot massage.
Hand Massage Tips: Take your partner's hand and with your thumb massage the palm of their hand working your way up to their fingers. Massage each of the fingers and the thumb in turn, squeezing, rotating and pulling them gently. Massage the back of the hand too working in between the bone and fingers to relieve more tension.
Foot Massage Tips: Did you know that foot massages promote good health and well-being? Take your partners foot and hold it firmly in one hand while using the palm of your other hand to stroke along the foot from heal to toes. Make the hand into a fist and, with the finger joints pressed into the foot, stroke firmly along the sole of the foot. Squeeze the heel.
Massage each of the toes, sqeezing and gently pulling each one in turn. Take your thumb and in circular motion rub the entire bottom of the foot. Squeeze the foot gently to relieve any remaining tension.

Your spa experience at the office
The other evening I was having a discussion with my cousin about candles. She works at home in her office and told me how she lights her EclipseSpa candles and has her own spa experience while working. The funny thing about this is that I am starting to hear this over and over again. More and more people are lighting their candles while working (safely I hope) and enjoying the aromatherapy benefits that so many candles carry. If you are in your home office or in a private office at work where it would not bother anyone to light a candle, I would start lighting those candles right away. You might find work alot more enjoyable and less stressful with a soothing scent of a aromatherapy candle. Get crazy---have your own spa experience at work!

The 15 Minute Spa Experience
I love going to spa's as often as possible, but sometimes it is either too expensive or there is not enough time. Taking just 15 minutes where there are no interruptions is enough to refresh and revitalize the mind and body. Here are some suggested steps.
1. Light a aromatherapy candle 5 minutes before your shower or bath to let the fragrance of the candle fill the room
2. Turn on the shower or fill the tub with tolerably hot water. Let the steam envelope the room.
3. Play your favorite spa music CD or turn the radio to a soft and soothing channel.
4. Step into the shower or tub and let the water de-stress your mind and body.
5. A nice organic soap or sugar scrub might be all you need to cleanse away any chaotic thoughts and stress that invade our lives daily.
6. When you are done, give yourself a quick massage while applying a fragrant organic body moisturizer. The aromatic benefits of the lotion will linger into the day or evening, a nice reminder of that special 15 minute spa experience.
Remember, all you need is 15 minutes....................................

A Tranquil Place is in your back yard
Right now the weather is terrific, sure to get warmer though. I love our backyard and the privacy we have from the outside world. The backyard is a great place to relax and reconnect with nature. I love to garden and have many pots filled with flowers, herbs and vegetables. I sure hope my tomatoes grow this year. Last year was miserable. So was the year before.........:( My sister grows great tomatoes......she'll give me some of hers............I hope...................:)
If you have a backyard or patio area, make a point of creating a peaceful sanctuary for yourself. You can do this by planting lots of colorful and/or fragrant flowers (Gardenia's, Jasmine, etc.) in the ground or in clay pots. Bird baths are really a nice touch as well as fountains. I love the sound of water, it is very peaceful. If you can, add a bench, chair, or a swing. How about a hammock for that Saturday afternoon nap? Candles and low-voltage lighting can create a peaceful ambiance as well as a romantic one.
