A Natural Healing Ritual--The Bath

Imagine at the end of a long day or week, relaxing and rejuvenating oneself in a bath.

Learning how to incorporate the use of aromatherapy with the basic bathing techniques (such as water temperature) you'll enjoy the many benefits that bathing offers. Baths and essential oils have synergistic effects.

Hippocrates noted in 500 B.C. that "the way to health is to have an aromatic bath and scented massage every day".

We can thank the Greeks and the Roman cultures for their experience in combining oils and bathing. We can take their experience and apply it to our every day rituals ourselves. Creating your own personal spa experience with a therapeutic bath is not only easy but a total relaxing experience.

You can choose to purchase a single essential oil or a combination of oils to blend yourself to achieve your desired results. Or for some of us it may be easier to purchase products that have the essential oils already prepared in a bath treatment such as a bubble bath or massage/bath oil. Essential oils in the bath also affect our moods, because as they evaporate we inhale them. Lavender, for example, is found in relaxation blends designed to relieve stress, anxiety and insomnia.
